NY Times: Lobbyists, Guns, and Money

Who writes our laws?

Paul Krugman had an interesting op-ed over at the Times today.  I will go into further detail on People for Polity a little later, but basically, he details the American Legislative Exchange Council's (ALEC) involvement with Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with America's little known ghost organization, ALEC is an institution ran by the Koch brother's that includes corporations, lobbies, and legislators.  ALEC actually WRITES legislation and persuades (pays) legislators to pass their laws; sometimes word-for-word.

Lot's more to come.

Be sure to check out Krugman's piece, and check back a bit later today for PfP's take on the situation.
